A CHINESE EXPORT MARBLE TOP BLACK LACQUERED HONGMU BREAKFAST TABLE, LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1912), the circular top inset with rouge marble within a leafy gadroon edge, above a pierced flowering double gourd tendril motif skirt, raised on a circular, high relief carved writhing dragon amongst swirling clouds, descending to a flaming pearl carved socle, issuing three flaming mouth dragon carved cabriole legs, terminating in claw and ball feet, height: 31.50", diameter: 36.50". Note: Similar tables can be seen in antique photographs of the interior of the infamous "Chinese Tuxedo," restaurant in Chinatown, New York City, New York, circa 1905. Condition: In overall good stable condition, with flaking and loss to black ebonized finish; top wood sun bleached, wear commensurate with age and use.
