What a wonderful set to display for all to admire! The first plate has been hand painted with red ripening crab apples in a group hanging down from the branches on their stems. Beautiful green and brown leaves are popping up in between the fruit. One lone apple is dangling down all by itself. The apples have a brick red background behind the cluster of fruit and a nice creamy white background on the rest of the piece. Light purple leaves give the impression that they are in the shadows. The second plate has beautiful green and brown pears. The gro of golden pears are among beautiful green leaves and are set on a rich brown background that graduates around the plate into a soft gray green. Two pears are away from the group giving the plate a nice balance. The third plate has bright yellow pears with beautiful variegated leaves. This plate's background has soft pastels of blue, pink, green and cream. There are no chips or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc. Backstamp: Two plates have D&Co 1894-1900 and one has B&Co and is signed B.
