A Chinese blue and white teapot dating from the 18th century. The body and lid feature flowers on a swirl ground within ruyi frames. Dimensions are: 4 1/2 inches tall X 6 1/4 inches wide, 11.4 cm X 15.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a hairline to the body and chipping to the spout. There are chips to the lid. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
