A Chinese bronze Amitabha Buddha dating from the 18th century or earlier. Amitabha sits in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal with his hands in the dhyana mudra holding a bowl. He wears a robe with an incised ruyi border. On his forehead is an incised hair coil. The bottom of the piece has an incised stylized quatrefoil motif. Dimensions are: 6 inches tall X 6 inches wide, 15.2 cm X 15.2 cm. Weight: 1300 grams. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The bottom is replaced and the base has several dents.
