A group of six Chinese blue and white export plates dating from the 18th century. All feature a garden scene with two birds on the interior, but each plate has a depicts a different kind of bird. Dimensions are: 1 inches tall X 9 inches wide, 2.5 cm X 22.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One plate has a hairline and a repair. One plate has a repair and a star crack to the bottom. One plate has repairs, a hairline, and significant chipping. One plate has a crack to the bottom of the interior, two hairlines to the rim, and chipping. One plate has one hairline. And one plate has a hairline to the bottom of the interior, a hairline to the rim, chipping, and iron pitting. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
