A group of three Chinese blue and white plates dating from the 18th century. The group includes: A plate with red underglaze featuring a phoenix in a pond scene on the interior and four motifs on the exterior. A plate with flowers on the interior. And a plate with a figure in a landscape surrounded by Buddhist emblems and flowers on the interior and two branches on the exterior. Dimensions are: the largest plate with the phoenix measures 1 3/4 inches tall X 9 3/4 inches wide, 4.4 cm X 24.8 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The plate with the phoenix has a hairline on the rim and a character etched into the interior. The plate with the flowers is in overall good condition with slight chipping to the rim. The plate with the figure has rim chipping. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
