A Chinese blue and white export plate dating from the 17th or 18th century. The interior of the lobed plate features lotus tracery surrounding a dragon roundel. The exterior has lotuses and tracery. There is a 6-character mark on the bottom. Dimensions are: 1 1/2 inches tall X 10 1/2 inches wide, 3.8 cm X 26.7 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is chipping around the rim and an area of repair. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
