A Chinese famille rose vase with two wing-shaped handles dating from the Republic period. It features two landscape roundels, one with three adult male figures and one with three adult male figures and one child. The roundels are surrounded by a green ground with lotus tracery. Dimensions are: 13 1/4 inches tall X 6 1/2 inches wide, 33.7 cm X 16.5 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The bottom has been drilled. There are chips and a severe firing crack to the base. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
