A group of three Chinese blue and white bowls dating from the Ming dynasty. The lot includes: a small bowl with linear designs on the exterior and dots on the interior, a bowl with a figure on the interior and figures riding horses on the exterior, and a bowl with a leaf motif on the interior and tracery on the exterior. Dimensions are: the largest bowl with the leaf motif measures 2 1/8 inches tall X 5 3/4 inches wide, 5.4 cm X 14.6 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The rim of the small bowl has been ground down. The bowl with the figures has chipping to the foot. The bowl with the leaf motif has chipping to the foot, iron pitting, and abrasions. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
