A Russian silver gilt andplique-a-jour enamel kovsh, circa 1900. Of typical oval form with hook handle, the body finely decorated in vari-colored enamels with stylized foliage and geometric borders within cable borders, the handle enameled en suite. Apparently lacking maker's mark, but probably by Ovchinnikov, struck with 88 silver standard. Length: 6 1/4 in. (15.8 cm).
