A FINE AND RARE SILVER INLAID GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF VISHNU, NORTHEAST-INDIA, PALA PERIOD, 12th ct., standing in samabhanga on a lotus base with his principle hands holding lotus and conch, both secondary hands with club and wheel, wearing dhoti, silver-inlaid upavita, garland of flowers, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with silver-inlaid almond-shaped eyes, silver urna, the elongated earlobes with large silver-inlaid ear rings, his head topped with the kiritamakuta decorated with a pair of pattras and floating ribbons - Provenance: From a collection of Tibetan art, assembled prior to 2010 - Partly chipped, corrossion, minor rest.
