提要：东晋十六国以来，侨州郡县旋有旋亡，资料紊乱，期间各朝史书皆缺地理志。洪亮吉之子洪齮孙以《梁书》纪传为主，辅以《南齐书》《魏书》《南史》《北史》《北齐书》等诸书资料，略仿宋齐二志之例，详列魏、隋二注之文，其间实土、虚名，以及一名二地或一地二名者，一一条述。于名山大川，旧关重镇，馆殿台阁，宫阙园陵，都作了翔实记载，可视为《梁书》地理志之补着。
