Presented for sale is an exquisite German porcelain chocolate cup and cover or Pot de Creme decorated by Georg Heufel & Co. in hand painted panels of flowers and raised giltwork. The cup is raised on animal paw feet with twisted snake handles decorated in gilt. The cover is domed with a finial. The workman is outstanding and the porcelain trio is in all likelihood a Meissen blank. Georg Heufel & Co. was a Dresden decorating shop founded by its namesake around 1891. He decorated porcelain blanks in the style of Royal Vienna and Meissen. Extremely talented in both decoration and repair, he immigrated to the United States in 1901 where he worked for Lenox Inc. The cup is in mint condition, the lid has a few tiny chips to the inside of the rim (not seen when displayed). It makes an excellent cabinet piece. Size of Cup With Cover: 4 ½” Height 1
