This naughty novelty by the German firm of Schafer and Vater on one side appears to be an innocent dish shaped like two succulent cherries resting against a background of realistically modeled and painted leaves. But turn the tray over, and it is revealed that the ripe cherries are actually the voluptuous bottoms of two buxom blonde bathing beauties in form-fitting pale pink bathing suits. Of excellent sharp bisque, this early piece of erotica is 5.75 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. A similar frisky flipper is pictured on page 165 of my book, "Bawdy Bisques and Naughty Novelties: German Bathing Beauties and Their Risqué Kin." There is a mold or manufacturing flaw to the tip of a top leaf and damage to the toes of the women (it looks as if someone in the past tried to fill in some of the chips to the toes).
