“十八学士”是李世民为秦王时，于宫城西开文学馆，罗致四方文士，以杜如晦、房玄龄、陆德明等十八人分为三番，每日六人值宿，讨论文献，商略古今，号为十八学士。后人在艺术品中多以十八只仙鹤作为呈现。此粤绣团扇芯在咫尺之间刺绣十八只形态各异的仙鹤簇拥在松柏之间，刻画生动，配色鲜艳，技艺高超。
