豇豆红釉是康熙晚期创烧的特殊红釉品种，因烧制时偶见天然绿色苔点颇似豇豆，故而名之，为康熙一朝冠绝。目前所见康熙豇豆红釉作品主要有八种，皆为文房案头清玩，俗称“八大码”，为康熙晚期著名文臣刘源所设计，督陶官臧应选精心督造，其造型皆清灵秀美，釉色娇艳宜人，在古今中外享有极高声誉，本件器物为清代晚期仿康熙之作。
