此砚为铜质，座托几面四边设肩，四角设有卷云足。砚亦取传统砚式，略小于几面，砚面平坦，砚尾錾饰缠枝花卉纹样，淌池，砚岗处铸饰双鱼，双鱼间设横梁，并錾饰水浪纹，砚缘宽厚，缘面錾饰卷云纹。造型古拙。包浆盈实，具有典型金元时期造型遗风，为砚中少见者。
