此件水呈敛口，腹圆鼓，圈足，胎质细腻坚致，通身施铜红釉，造型精整，水丞，又名“水盂”、“水中丞”。是用来盛水的文房用具。用内附的小勺将清水舀入砚上，研磨习字。明代屠隆撰《考盘余事》记载：宋代定窑、官窑、哥窑、龙泉窑等均烧造水丞，盛行一时，珐琅彩的文房佳器，更弥足珍贵。
