此盘敞口，浅弧壁，高圈足外撇中空，盘内里素白，外施霁红釉，釉面纯净均匀。发色均匀，口沿及圈足弦纹处釉面因高温熔融垂流而显露白色胎骨，使得釉色更富于变化。乾隆三年，乾隆帝大规模颁样，谕令烧造一百五十多个瓷器品种，内有“霁红靶盘一件”，即为此类。霁红釉是以氧化铜为呈色剂的高温釉，烧成难度高，故存世较为罕见。
