Ca. 400-600 AD A beautiful bronze vessel with a globular body and ribbed neck. The body is round and smooth; the neck is long and decorated forming a flat rim. The vessel is made of a bronze alloy also known as speculum which has a high tin content resulting in less oxidation and beautiful smooth surface. The vessel was probably used to hold wine. Very fine condition and patina.
