Ca. 1-300 AD A tall glass vessel with a flat base, eight sides on the body, a thin round neck, an everted lip, and a handle connecting the lip to the body. It has a lovely grey-blue colour with swirling red streaks.Roman glass expanded upon Hellenistic techniques with the arrival of glass blowing in the 1st century, popularising the material and allowing the manufacture of vessels that looked ethereal, then and now, with swirling colours that catch the light magnificently.
