Ca. 6th Century BC A terracotta kylix with a hemispherical bowl, short pedestal foot, and two equally spaced loop handles. Decorated in a characteristic bi-chrome finish that takes advantage of the rich contrasting play between the rich black glaze and buff red ground. This beautiful piece would have been used for wine drinking, usually during social occasions or banquets. Absolutely intact, some remaining incrustation. Size: L:75mm / W:200mm ; 165g Provenance: Property of a London gallery; formely in High Wycombe Estate collection; formerly acquired from Dr Peter Michael, Apolluxx Antiquities in Luxembourg in 2007.
