A Chinese wucai porcelain statue of Budai dating from the late 19th century. He holds prayer beads in his right hand and a bag in his left hand. He wears a flowery robe. The bottom of the statue has a 4-character mark. Dimensions are: 10 1/2 inches tall X 10 inches wide, 26.7 cm X 25.4 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There are two prayer beads missing and glaze chips to the remaining beads. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s. High resolution images can be found here.
