A Russian gold and enamel snuff box, worn marks, ST Petersburg, circa 1784. Circular, the surface enameled in translucent red over engine turned reeding interspersed with pellets, the lid set with an oval en plain enamel painted plaque, depicting a pastoral scene with lovers, the borders of enameled translucent green leaves and opaque white beads. Dimensions:3/4” h x 2 1/2” diam. (1.9 x 6.5 cm).
