AMERICAN / BRITISH PICTORIAL NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, silk on linen, depicting a large bird perched in a blossoming tree, signed below "Mary Jones" and "April 1825" along the bottom edge, all encompassed by a scrolling flowering-vine border. Housed under glass in a 19th century veneer frame. Dated 1825. 9" x 8 1/2" sight, 12 5/8" x 12 3/8" OA. Very good visual condition with some scattered small losses and light fading to thread, frame with some wear, a few cracks, and losses to veneer. Not examined out of frame.
