藝專時期師承傅狷夫、蘇峰男老師。其作品多以水墨、膠彩等為顏料，並擅以重彩結合濃墨，表現寫實的山林質地。蕭進興的畫作向來以東方色彩濃厚著稱，為了表現台灣獨有的山水景緻而採行寫生畫風亦為其創作特色。 備註：曾參加中華民國第十六屆全國美術展覽會（編號：A037）。
