The ink stone exterior adorned with relief carving of auspicious geometrical pattern, including ruyi, plantain leaves, key fret, and archaic patterns. A open carved jade medallion embellished on to the top cover in the four-seasonal-friends motifs. The Zitan wood shows purplish deep brown lustrous patina, with fine feathery grain. The nephrite jade displays pale-creme color, with clean tone and sporadic golden russet inclusion, moist milky appearance.
