Haseldine, 36 Bond Street, London The large case with pierced brass caddy top with elaborate satyr handle over four flaming urn finials over an arched pediment and pair of caryatid pilasters on a canted plinth base on elaborate scrollwork feet, the signed 8.25 inch silvered and brass Roman and Arabic dial with finely matted centre, with blued-steel Rococo style hands, with three subsidiary dials above, for slow/fast regulation, chime/silent and choice of 8 or 4 bell configuration, the substantial triple fusee movement with anchor escapement, striking the hours and the quarters on a large blued-steel coiled gong and up to 8 bells and hammers.
