BODHISATTVA Bronze Gandhara , 6th century Dimensions: Height 23 cm Weight: 2314 grams Bodhisattva sitting in royal ease pose on a double reverse lotus flower on a square platform, one foot standing on a smaller lotus flower growing from the side. The figure is slender and dressed in a short dhoti, the rim of a seemingly transparent robe hanging down from one shoulder and running over the chest and back. The face is gracious and delicate, a three-pointed tiara decorates the head. The Bodhisattva is holding a lotus flower in one hand. The other hand is lifted to the shoulder gesturing the mudra of fearlessness.
