The smooth modelling of the torso gives the impression of a bare chest but the robe is actually draped over the shoulders and decorated with elaborate necklaces and armlets. He is wearing a crown with tall cone and knob finial. The earlobes are elongated and decorated with jewellery. The expression is calm and in a meditative state, the hands both form the vitarka mudra, gesture of philosophical debate and discussion.
