STANDING GANESHA Bronze, Nepal, 16th century Dimensions: Height 11 cm Weight: 242 grams An old bronze of four-armed Ganesha in a wide dress standing on a platform, his vehicle the mouse to his feet. Behind him is a rounded archway topped in the centre by a fierce makara face with open mouth. Ganesha is wearing a crown and a scarf is billowing from his shoulders. Ganesha's body is exceptionally slim and human with a small waist. His hands are in front of his chest, holding a ball of sweet balls called laddu and his broken tusk. The lifted hands are holding a bow and battle axe. His ears are comparably small and decorated with pendants. The archway is decorated with ornaments. The backside is flat.
