The lama is dressed in monastic robes hanging down from the shoulders. A big headdress sits on the head with attentive expression. One hand is placed in the lap with the palm facing up, the other hand is resting on the knee showing the gesture of discussion and teaching. On the back of the lotus throne is an inscription.
