A TINNED COPPER BOWL Iran, 18th century Of compressed globular shape, resting on a plain convex base, rising to narrowing shoulders and a splayed neck, with an everted circular mouth, the body engraved with drooping polylobed floral medallions, several bands of fretwork and geometric motifs framing a band of calligraphic cartouches interspersed with floral roundels and animals against a vegetal scrolling ground, the calligraphy quoting Ghazal 119 by Hafez, a roundel inscribed with the title 'Abd 'Eyn Al Qarar, 10.2cm high and 14.6cm diam.
