A FINE ISFAHAN CARPET, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 14ft.6in. x 10ft.(442cm. x 305cm.) The soft rust field with very nicely drawn design of scrolling floral and leafy vine around cusped ivory arabesque and floral vine medallion. Light blue arabesque spandrels. In an ivory border of bold palmettes and floral meander between flowering vine wide stripes. Outer plain stripe. This carpet has slight localized wear down to knot collar in places mainly toward one end, otherwise good pile. Soft wool quality and very good colour combination. Ends original with kilim and fringes. Selvages rebound, well done. In general this carpet is in very good usable condition despite imperfections. Very good furnishing piece and elegant piece.
