In the Style of Qiu Ying (ca. 1494-1552), Scholar with Boy Servant in a Spring Landscape, China, ca. 17th ct., framed under glass, 135,5 x 26,7 cm, ink and colors on silk. Signature by the artist: "Painted by Shifu Qiu Ying". One seal of the artist: "Shizhou". At the upper left an inscription by Wen Zhengming (1470-1559), signed: "Zhengming". Two seals: "Seal of Wen Zhengming" (Wen Zhengming yin), "Hengshan". Qiu Ying, style name Shizhou, was one of the most famous painters of figures in Suzhou. In landscape painting he specialized in the popular blue and green style. This is a fine painting with exquisitely rendered figures in his typical style. - Property from a European private collection, assembled between 1960 and 1990 - Wear, traces of age.
