The Chinese Qing Dynasty gilt bronze cloisonne ceremonial water pot. Repoussed unto a deep round vessel, wider to the shoulder gently tapered toward cylindrical straight neck supports the banded rim, curved gilt bronze spout emerged on the belly in shape of a phoenix head, with one scrolling dragon creating a looped handle on opposite. Flanked with tall and characterizing gilt bronze looped handle suspended from the collar, densely decorated in deep relief of ruyi clouds. Banded with lotus petals on the collar and numerous gilt bronze rings on rim, foot, and neck. The teapot is delicately decorated in cloisonne works, soldering to the bronze foundation with narrow bands of gilt bronze wiring and filling up the interstices with colorful enamel after which the piece is fired and polished, depicted dragon decoration. Enamel with their brilliant coloring, appeal strongly to the aesthetic sense of the people, and this water pot is manufactured by hand in all manner of conventional and symbolic designs. Mark on base, incised six script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
