Chinese Ming blue and white dragons Yuhuchun bottle vase. Finely potted in traditional YuHuChun shape vessel, the pear-shaped bottle vase, a bottom-heavy body tapered gracefully to the slender-waisted neck, flaring at the rim, supported on short spreading foot ring. The exterior decorations show a spontaneous, naturalistic style, painted in various tones and shades of cobalt blue and white under glazed of Five-claws dragons borne amidst fumes and flames. The rim banded with fine rings. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel ju-pi (chu-p'i) or a chicken skin. The glaze stopping before the foot rim revealed the pale-creme ground burnt dark spots in the firing, and edge-cut foot rim, enclosing the receded central base remain plain left white underglaze. The under-base bears a reign mark, a vertical six underglazed blue script characters reign mark enclosed within double fine rings, Xuande Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
