此组铜鎏金凤凰摆件精致小巧，形制如一。凤凰圆脑尖喙，双睛炯炯，双翅贴体，立身昂首傲立，长尾高扬，尾翎末端自然下垂，造型简洁朴拙而神气十足。后人爱之，配金属山子式台架，高低错落，宛若凤凰高立与山峰，陈设效果极佳。
凤凰是古代传说中的百鸟之王，羽毛五色，声如箫乐。常用来象征瑞应。《诗·大雅·卷阿》：“凤皇鸣矣，于彼高冈。”唐韩愈《与崔群书》：“凤皇、芝草，贤愚皆以为美瑞；青天、白日，奴隶亦知其清明。”明清时期凤凰作为祥瑞图样，在工艺装饰中尤其流行。
