提要：是书为明代杂居选集，首镌明代大家张元征、徐翙、程羽文三人的序备一篇。内收杂剧三十种，所收大都是嘉靖后重要作家作品，如徐渭的《四声猿》、康海《中山狼》、陈与郊的《昭君出塞》、孟称舜的《桃花人面》等，为研究明杂剧的重要资料。文内沈泰、王世懋等皆有眉批，极富精见。编者在“凡例”中提出选剧的标准是“快事、韵事、奇绝、趣绝”。所选作品，着重“出风入雅，戛玉锵金”“偶收鄙秽”、“旁及诙谐”。董康以明精刊本覆刻，正文字画瘦劲挺立，眉批字迹小巧纤秀，且各剧卷端附珂罗版版画2帧，凡图60帧，书品宽大，刊印上乘。开本敞阔，老庄旧貌，品相极佳。著名戏曲家马彦祥旧藏。
