提要：是书为汉魏以来最早一部系统注解《说文》之书，史称“小徐本”。今仅有宋残本传世，元明间皆无刊本，干嘉学派兴起后是书方重得重视。清道光十八年，祁嶲藻委托李兆洛据汪启淑藏北宋本与顾千里抄本参校影刻《说文系传》，惜书板于天平天国战火中毁失。光绪初吴韶生官金陵时延请旌德名工李光明据道光本翻刻，首有其兄吴宝恕序，后附校勘记，极为完备。此本开本宏阔，字体景宋，笔划舒展，十分悦目。
