提要：是书采卫湜《礼记集说》，郑氏取舍诸儒之说，或以某氏为是，或以己意断之，于引诸说之下加“愚按”以别之。本书书名页题“礼记集说七十卷”乃据稿本原卷数题之，刊刻时则依《礼记》四十九篇改为四十九卷，然据各卷子目实为八十九卷。此本为成书后唯一之刻本，书末有民国十三年刘承干跋，全书保存完好。
郑元庆，字子余，一字芷畦，浙江归安人。生于清顺治十七年，卒年不详。少承叔父郑骏声习易、礼，通史传及金石文字。康熙间游幕四方，以岁贡生终。有多种经学、史部著作传世。
