* TO BE SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE * A CHINESE KOAKE HEXAGONAL SHONZUI-PATTERNED ‘RIVER LANDSCAPE’ TRIPOD STAND, MING DYNASTY, TIANQI PERIOD, 1621 – 1627 明天晵 五彩山水圖纹三足盤 Painted to the interior with a figure in a sampan in a river landscape, bordered with diaper and lattice panels, below similar narrow bands to the everted rim, the exterior with a poetic inscription in iron-red, all supported on three short feet, Japanese wood box (2) Width: 25cm Provenance: Mujintang Collection, purchased in Yokohama, 2014. Exhibited: Robert Bradlow Fine Art, Reflecting Nature, 17th Century Chinese Ceramics for the Japanese Market: Kosometsuke & Koake, Catalogue no.20. Condition Report The stand has a 5cm wide section of repair to the rim, a 3cm wide repaired rim chip, some rim fritting and shallow chips, one foot has been re-attached, a 1cm wide shallow rim chip, and scattered burst bubbles and iron-spots.
