An impressive large blue and white kraak porcelain bowl, Ming dynasty, Ca. 1635-50, China, A very fine deep bowl, with an unusual scene on the interior of a lady with two servants under a willow tree, surrounded by floral panels and scenes of figures in a garden with a fence. The outside with panels featuring Chinese figures and Dutch houses, divided by Persian-style flowers. This exact bowl is pictured and discussed in the book 'Kraak Porcelain' by Maura Rinaldi, on page 164 (pl 204)., D 35-36 cm, H 16.2 cm, A few hairlines and rim chipping/fritting. The bowl slightly warped and with typical manufacturing imperfections and irregularities. Along the top rim some old enamel touch- to glaze loss (see close-up photos) but no modern restoration.
