A JAPANESE BIZEN `NINGYO-TOKKURI` EDO PERIOD (1603-1868), 18TH CENTURY In tea-whish shape, with three dimples pressed into the sides to create a triangular form, one dimple decorated with an applied relief-moulded image of Hotei. Further decorated with `Goma` splashes and `hidasuki` lines around the neck and sides. Together with a Japanese wooden box inscribed with an authentication by Katsura Matasaburo. 23.5cm high, 15.5cm diameter OTHER NOTES: Katsura Matasaburo (1901-1986) was a renowned Japanese independant researcher and author who specialised in excavating ko-Bizen (old Bizen), studying inscriptions and kiln marks, and authenticating Bizen pottery pieces.品相报告: No visible faults or damage The opinions expressed in the condition reports are a guide only and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
