此尊精铜所铸，胎体厚重，敞口微撇，粗颈稍束，颈腹线条流畅，腹部饱满，底承外撇圈足较高，以彰显挺拔的器身。颈肩处设兽吞把式双耳，腹部双弦纹带状开光内，以云雷纹作底，饰硕大的兽面纹，并以错金银工艺装饰，银丝勾勒纹饰边缘，金箔点缀双睛及鼻部，于霸气中流露出精美华丽的典雅气氛。
明宣德年间，宣宗朱瞻基因见郊坛宗庙及内廷所陈设鼎彝均非古制，遂生复古之心，在宣德三年敕谕工部仿照宋人《考古图》、《博古图》诸书所记商周青铜器器形，铸造仿古铜器。此尊既是取战汉时期青铜壶化材而成，通体皮壳油润，嵌错工艺精湛，为明代仿古器物之佳品，极具收藏价值。
