Ca. 1700-1800 ADA finely rendered deep red carnelian scarab with a small head, and folded wings, engraved on the flat side with an inclined figure, set in a magnificent gold brooch setting composed of a central ovoid frame with ropework border and a vertical rod, where the scarab is placed and secured, and two lateral poles, each with three square-shaped cells filled with stunning filigree flowers and finished with a rounded finial. The borders are further embellished with scroll and filigree designs.
