乾隆御题诗：
咏玉马
美玉与良马，都称乾德为。
琢磨成特达，筋骨自权奇。
何必施鞍勒，天然伏虎罴。
风人咏空谷，体物引遐思。 插屏为料器，雕刻饮马图情景，如画卷般徐徐铺展，老树下，溪岸边，健马站立溪水之中，神态昂扬。如马尾、溪水、动作、神态等部分，都有其独到之处。特别是水流，辅以阴刻草木，杂以浅浮雕，树干上凹凸不平等，多种技法的配合，富有极强的立体质感，为此器增添情景趣味。远处山景怡丽，近处水流和缓，骏马悠然自得，左侧为乾隆御题诗咏玉马，相配合宜。
