弥勒佛像是依照五代时浙江奉化县岳林寺的布袋和尚的相貌塑造的，弥勒为梵文Maitreya的音译，意译慈氏，此佛常象征怀慈悲之心。此尊造像体量较大，制作工艺精巧，慈祥满面，宝相庄严，眼喜笑，大耳垂肩，神态可敬可亲。通身素雅简饰，着广袖长袍，袒胸露腹，大肚硕圆，典型的中原世俗化的弥勒形象。赤足曲腿舒坐，右手握佛珠搭于右膝之上，左手握一布袋，人物憨态可掬而不失佛家风范。衣纹的处理采用了汉地写实的传统表现手法，衣褶刻画生动。形象刻划生动传神，尤其是衣褶处理具有较强的艺术效果，将弥勒佛逍遥自在、大肚能容的形象表现得极为到位。此尊造像铜质上乘，漆金保存状态极佳，为明代中原造像的经典之作。
