有清一代，斗彩之巅必属雍正，此种工艺创制于宣德，至成化达到高峰，于康熙获取新生，到雍正斐然于世。本品敞口，弧腹，圈足。胎质坚细，釉水温醇莹亮，内口沿以青花、红彩间饰梵纹，底足饰以“花押款”。内外主题纹饰以斗彩描绘出了盛夏时节静谧的荷塘，波光粼粼，朵花漂游，芦苇飘荡，绿叶衬托红莲于微风中摇曳生姿，上有鹭鸶空中盘旋，间有鸳鸯嬉戏其中。一派水光接天，恬静安逸的荷塘情趣图呈现于眼帘。又有鹭与路同音,莲与连同音,芦苇之芦与路谐音。旧时科举考试,连续考中谓之连科。鹭鸶与荷花、芦苇组成的图案即称一路连科,是对科举时代赶考生的祝颂语,谓此行可以连中三元,应试连捷,仕途顺遂。古时科举时代士子为求功名, 特别喜爱一路连科题材。
