此竹雕臂搁形制规整，包浆莹润。采用留青技法，刻人物山水纹，远山巍峨，古树参天，怪石嶙峋，松柏多用密点示意，浑然一体，疏密有致。整体图案由深入浅分出层次渐渐刻绘，构图采用平远透视，且布局巧妙，意境悠远，展现了一幅深远旷达的人物山水画卷。臂搁右上角阴刻行书诗文“老树无荫石有棱，乱山高下白云层”，并镌有“芷”“岩”方印。
